Everton’s new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, wants Napoli profile Lorenzo Insigne for the Premier League.
According to the French media L’Equipe Everton’s new manager, Carlo Ancelotti, is chasing Napoli captain, Lorenzo Insigne. The Italian manager wants the countryman to join the Premier League club already in the upcoming January transfer window.
The 28-year-old offensive Italian has been in Napoli since 2006, joining as a youth player. For several seasons he has been considered an absolute favorite among the fans in the South Italian club as he was born and raised in the nearby town of Frattamaggiore.
This season, however, the captain has experienced that the otherwise so forgiving Neapolitan ultras have criticized him when he has played below his usual level.
In 324 first-team matches for Napoli, Insigne has scored 81 times and assisted in another 72.
At age 28 he ranks sixth on the list of players with the most matches for the club, and in eighth place over the most scoring in the club’s history.
